Zayn Malik going to Newcastle University?

Is Zayn Malik going to Newcastle University next year? The singer recently quit One Direction saying he wanted to live the life of a ‘normal 22 year old’ and the Newcastle University Student’s Union website yesterday published a report claiming he will enrol on a ‘countryside management’ course in September 2015.

Unfortunately for his fans in Newcastle – it is clear that the announcement was nothing more than an April Fool’s Day hoax. However, many people were fooled and seemed to forget what day it was.

They were also obviously too excited to even read the article properly as there are several clues that suggest it was all a big joke. Several quotes on the website were from blatantly comical names such as Professor Ru Jokin and Dr AF Ool, who allegedly showed him the Agriculture Building during a recent visit.

Some people suggested that the news would encourage more people to choose Newcastle as their first choice university…

Although others suggested that anyone who believed the story shouldn’t be allowed to study there…

Maybe she has a point.

We also caused a stir yesterday with our own April Fool’s joke. Unfortunately Sunderland won’t be having 9 points taken from their Premier League tally.
