Metro Radio causes controversy with ‪Punching Above Your Weight‬ competition

Metro Radio has caused controversy by hosting their Punching Above Your Weight competition for the third year running.

The radio station is encouraging listeners to send in photos of themselves with their partner if they believe one of them is significantly more attractive than the other. The definition of punching above your weight is displayed on their website together with details of how to sign up.

The competition is part of the Steve and Karen breakfast show and although it is seen as just a bit of fun by most people, others find it cruel and offensive and have voiced their opinion on social media, criticising the radio station for its lack of class.
