Old Newcastle Bars and Pubs (part one)

Newcastle is constantly developing and one aspect that seems to be forever changing is the city’s night life industry. Renowned throughout the UK and further afield for having a great selection of pubs, bars and clubs, Newcastle attracts many visitors from far and wide who come purely for a night out on the Town.

Because of this and the fact that it is a relatively small city, competition is rife amongst operators – which is good for customers as it means standards usually remain high and new ideas are regularly introduced to attract more punters.

This also means that venues often shut down or completely change to accommodate a different type of clientèle Рwhich is great if you are looking for something new, but not so great if the place that closes down is one of your favourite watering holes.

In this post we will look at various old Newcastle bars and pubs from different areas within the city that are no longer operating.

Enjoy this little trip down memory lane and let us know if we missed out your favourite…
