Watch Newcastle’s games down-under

They may not feature very often on the list of live Premier League games televised throughout the season, but fans of Newcastle United will be able to watch their team on the box twice in one week (if they have access to BT Sport).

Ok, they may only be friendlies but it offers a chance to see some of the new signings in action following a busy Summer transfer window.

The Newcastle players will be wearing black armbands in memory of John Alder and Liam Sweeney, the two fans who were on-board flight MH17 on their way to watch their beloved team.

The first of their two games down-under is against Sydney FC and will be televised tomorrow morning (Tuesday 22nd July) on BT Sport 1 at 8.30am UK time.

If you think that is too early you will not be pleased to learn that their 2nd fixture is at 5.30am, albeit on a Saturday (26th July). Here they will face the Wellington Phoenix in the Capital City of New Zealand.

As far as we are aware, BT will continue to offer their BT Sports channels for free to subscribers of their broadband internet for the whole of next season. This is great news as initially it was expected that the offer would only be available during the 2013/14 season.

Sky Sports has included three Newcastle games in their preliminary list of live games, including the Toon’s opening game of the season at home to current champions Manchester City.
