Christmas Lunch Newcastle

December arrives and people really start getting in a festive mood. It is now acceptable to play Christmas songs, think about putting your tree up and get excited about fun nights out leading up to the big day.

Another good thing about December is that many pubs/bars/restaurants offer a Christmas food menu. Turkey, pigs and blankets, stuffing and all the other things we look forward to on Christmas day can be enjoyed throughout December as well, why wait until 25th December? We know many people who like to have a few traditional Christmas meals on the run up to Christmas and who can blame them?

Over the past few days our team have sampled some festive menus to bring you some recommendations of who does the best Christmas lunch in Newcastle.

Bealim House

One of Newcastle’s newest venues, Bealim House, has a drinks and food menu that are equally impressive. Home of Newcastle Gin, which is distilled and bottled on site in what is the city’s only working gin distillery, Bealim House is a great place to head to over the festive period for drinks and delicious Christmas fare.

Their festive menu (see below) is available everyday up to and including Christmas Eve – so there’s plenty of time to check it out and we are sure you will not be disappointed.

Pigs in Blankets followed by turkey and Christmas pudding, washed down with some Newcastle Gin – sounds good to us!

Luciano’s

Luciano’s is a spacious, family friendly, Italian restaurant located in Kingston Park just over the road from Tesco and surrounded by plenty of other popular retail outlets, which is perfect if you want to combine a festive meal with some Christmas shopping. Luciano’s offers plenty of on-site parking too to make this an easy choice if you’ve got the car.

Again this main meal came with all the trimmings that you look forward to at Christmas – delicious stuffing, ‘pigs in blankets’ and tender turkey. The Luciano’s Christmas menu is also available as a two course special (see details below) with several options for starters and main courses (if for some reason you don’t fancy a traditional lunch).

Pacific House

Pacific Christmas Lunch

The location of Pacific House just off Northumberland Street makes it the perfect choice for those looking to enjoy a Christmas meal after a busy day of shopping.

Delicious, succulent turkey together with a host of seasonal vegetables and Yorkshire puddings made this a very enjoyable meal. And of course no Christmas meal would be complete without ‘pigs in blankets’ and stuffing! The main meal also comes with a pot of cranberry sauce for those who like to have their turkey the ‘American’ way.

The Pacific House Christmas menu is available until 24th December and can be viewed here or by clicking the image above. Note that there are three courses available in total featuring a hearty vegetable broth to start and a delicious traditional Christmas pudding for dessert.

And now for something different…

Viva Brazil

If you are looking for something different from traditional turkey with all the trimmings, then Viva Brazil is a great choice.

This Brazilian restaurant offers a truly unique dining experience, with 15 different barbeque meats and unlimited festive sides and salads.

Viva Brazil Christmas

This place is a dream come true for meat lovers but also offers vegetarian options. It’s also a great place for big groups and the endless supply of food on offer if sure to keep you satisfied. A Caipirinha, Brazil’s national cocktail, is one of the ‘welcome drink options’ available in their Christmas package and they have a delicious selection of desserts on offer too.
